Ibadah-Friendly Hospital (IFH): A Holistic, Value-Driven Approach to Care
Al-Islam Specialist Hospital champions the Ibadah-Friendly Hospital (IFH) concept—an initiative rooted in Islamic values that integrates physical treatment with spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being. Developed as part of our da’wah bil hal mission, this approach ensures that patients are treated with both professional excellence and compassion (ihsan).

Key values and features of IFH:
-
Facilitating Ibadah for Patients – Patients are supported in performing their religious duties such as prayer and ablution, with proper facilities and guidance, even during illness or treatment.
-
Dignified & Syariah-Sensitive Environment – Patient rooms are oriented toward the qiblah, staff attire is modest, and gender-sensitive SOPs are practiced throughout the hospital.
-
Islamic Workplace Culture – Our staff embrace sincerity, commitment, and kindness, reflected in everyday interactions through greetings, smiles, and ethical service delivery.
-
Holistic & Inclusive Healthcare – We address the physical, psychological, mental, and spiritual aspects of every patient, catering to individuals across all ages and backgrounds.
-
Affordable & Trusted Medical Services – We remain committed to providing transparent, accessible, and ethical care, while actively engaging communities through health education and outreach.
Through IFH, Al-Islam Specialist Hospital stands not only as a center for healing but also as a sanctuary for spiritual growth—fostering a calm, respectful, and faith-conscious healthcare experience for all.

OUR SERVICES

At Al-Islam Specialist Hospital, our in-house ustaz and ustazah conduct daily visits to patients, offering guidance on performing ibadah during illness such as solat and tayammum. Male patients are assisted by ustaz, and female patients by ustazah, ensuring spiritual care is delivered respectfully. They also train our staff to support patients in line with our Ibadah-Friendly Hospital (IFH) values, promoting holistic healing grounded in Islamic principles.
Ziarah Service
Spiritual Services
At Al-Islam Specialist Hospital, we provide religious officers (Chaplaincy) who are dedicated to guiding and assisting patients in their spiritual needs. As part of our commitment to upholding Islamic values, our religious officers ensure that the patient's spiritual well-being is cared for alongside their physical treatment.

We also offer a spiritual clinic for outpatients and provide spiritual guidance to patients in the ward. This initiative is part of our holistic approach, ensuring that both the body and soul are nurtured throughout the healing process.

Aurah & Dignity
As an Ibadah-Friendly Hospital, Al-Islam Specialist Hospital places a strong emphasis on maintaining the aurah (modesty) and dignity of our patients throughout their medical care. We are committed to ensuring that our patients feel respected and secure during their stay with us.
For example, our maternity apparel is designed to fully cover the aurah, and we ensure that female patients are attended to by female gynecologists. Additionally, we offer chaperones for patients during medical procedures to ensure comfort, privacy, and dignity are upheld at all times.
Husnul Khatimah
At Al-Islam Specialist Hospital, we are deeply committed to ensuring that our patients receive spiritual support during critical moments. For patients who are facing serious or life-threatening conditions, our staff is prepared to whisper the Shahada to help guide them in their final moments, in addition to providing essential medical care.
Furthermore, when a patient is nearing the end of life or experiencing critical stages (sakaratulmaut), our duty officers will recite Surah Yassin as part of our holistic approach to provide comfort and spiritual peace. This practice reflects our dedication to both the physical and spiritual well-being of our patients, aligning with our Ibadah-Friendly Hospital principles.
Facilities
We prioritize the spiritual well-being of our patients by offering various facilities to support their worship practices. We provide dedicated spaces for prayer, complete with prayer mats, prayer veils, water sprays, and tayammum dust, ensuring that patients can perform their prayers with ease.
Additionally, the hospital offers Qur'ans, Patient Ibadah Guidance book and Al-Mathurat to help patients and visitors engage in remembrance of Allah SWT.
Our television broadcasts are tailored to include religious content, such as Islamic lectures, prayer guides, and dhikir recitations, fostering a spiritually enriching environment. The calming effect of Qur'anic verses and the continuous recitation of dhikir and prayers throughout the hospital further enhance the sense of peace and tranquility, creating an atmosphere conducive to spiritual healing. This is part of our holistic approach to healthcare, integrating both physical and spiritual care for a comprehensive healing experience.
